Halfaampieskraal is just outside of Napier and ‘the perfect place to do nothing at all’. The farm has gorgeous luxury interiors and it produces pure merino wool, down, wheat, barley and canola.

An overnight stay in the Overberg with warm hearted hospitality and wholesome home cooking …the emphasis is on individual comfort.

The farm has converted a string of outbuildings that once housed the blacksmiths forge, a school room and a wind powered generator. Each room has its own private bathroom in a stylish lean-to added to the back of the buildings. The bedrooms are extremely cosy as the walls are solid clay and more than 90cm thick, having been plastered and insulated with straw and manure then white washed. Sumptuous rustic eiderdowns with luxury cotton linens feel Simply Chic!

I love the vast vistas of rolling wheat fields which are constantly changing through the seasons with a kaleidoscope of colours perfect for painting, photographing, hiking or just simply observing.

We visited in winter and we just didn’t want to leave …ever!

Parties are held in a converted barn, the iconic and revolutionary Club Havana, which is just such fun! Dress up in your best garb, and wear those decadent heels that you have been saving for this occasion!

Halfaampieskraal is available on dinner, bed and breakfast basis.
Lunch on request ….or drop in at the choice of excellent local restaurants in nearby Napier or go to the beach in Arniston or shop in Greyton! Or just stay put and do nothing at all.
