Motswari Private Camp
Timbavati Game Reserve
Leopards sneaking through camp, white lions, wild dogs, hectares of wild bush and awesome sunsets are part of the Motswari legend. Motswari is a Tswana word for ‘to conserve and protect’ and Marion Geiger and family have owned this reserve for 40 years but this little vintage bush camp is where their hearts reside.
Stone and thatch, a magnificent indoor / outdoor veranda with incredible uninterrupted views of the bush. Carefully chosen antiques - dark Victorian cupboards, each chair and sofa upholstered with quaint stripes and botanical florals all in soft earthy greens and muddy browns reminiscent of the 40’s explorers. Big tomes in the bookshelves with all the birdbooks, all the mammal guides and introductions to the bush you could wish for.
The bedrooms are so romantic with big 4 poster beds, crisp white linens and mosquito nets. Brass taps fittings with a ball and claw bath and not forgetting each suite has an outside shower.
Your very own ranger, landrover and cook ensures a luxuriously lazy stay – you can walk, drive or float in the pool to see the game. Incredible views of the Nhlaralumi River and miles and miles of green and brown bushveld will inspire your adventurous spirit.
The African chorus kicks in, the skies strewn with stars, dinner by paraffin lamps – all evokes spinning stories for your own family’s legends round the fire.
