" ChurchHaven was beautiful - easily the most stunning place I have seen
in South Africa. The solitude and beauty of the coastline reminded me
of Camusdarach, Moray, on the West Coast of Scotland which, on a rare
warm day with the Gulf Stream coming in, is the most staggering
stretch of coastline in northern Europe. So as a Scot I felt right at
home. As a family we just loved it and the kids were treated to
amazing wildlife from errant black feathered ostriches to old
grey-shelled tortoises and brlliant yellow hummingbirds. Our evenings
were filled with candle-lit barbecues, cold wine from a solar powered
fridge, and inspecting the fruits of the kids crab hunts - the perfect
way to end long lazy days. I couldn't be more effusive in my praise
for the warmth of the family cottage which, despite not having our own
photographs adorning the walls, felt strangely like our own family
home. A magical place.
