Handpicked for you...

Green’s Camp is named after the famous Green brothers, explorers of Southern Africa in the 1850’s. The camp is only 100kms from Johannesburg and was established by a direct descendent of the Green’s and harks back to the days of the Colonial exploration of Africa.

Originally a few neglected rondavels, it was a labor of love for it’s owners who wanted to build their ultimate escape; “we wanted a place in the bushveld that was close enough to Johannesburg to allow us to go as regularly as possible to escape our manic city life.” That’s what Greens Camp is. “You feel like you’ve been away for days after a weekend and you can face the crazy week ahead.”

“We love the views, there are rolling hills and big skies and complete silence except for the most amazing birdsong. We have an abundance of bird life at the farm and even have paradise flycatchers nesting in our courtyard every year. Giraffes come to visit and steal lemons of our now very sparse lemon tree.” Greens Camp is perfect for family and friends and there is plenty to do in- and near- the reserve.

Time stands still at Greens. Enjoy tea and home-made biscuits in the early afternoon sun lounging next to the pool taking in the birdsong and the tranquillity of the farm. Fire up the pizza oven for a little al fresco dining under the stars or watch the sun set with sun downers in the viewing spots or take a slow drive up to the top of the hill (look out for Zebra, Giraffe, Wildebeest and any other plains game along the way) to enjoy the vistas of the rolling hills watching the sun set on a small corner of Africa.

Wake feeling fully rejuvenated after an undisturbed nights sleep. Breakfast will be prepared by Amon , he makes great coffee and we definitely suggest you request a freshly baked loaf of bread too!

Cullinan – 20km away from Greens camp
Cullinan is famous for the discovery of what became known as the Cullinan Diamond - the largest rough gem-quality diamond ever found. The charming little village has managed to hold on to much of its mine village character - its historic stone and corrugated iron mine workers’ houses, offices and churches a throwback to the mining times of the early 1900s - lies 25 kilometers south east of Green’s Camp.
Cullinan still serves the Premier Mine and its Oak Avenue, richly lined with both Jacarandas and Oak trees, is a living museum and tribute to this era - beautifully preserved Edwardian period buildings complete with picket fences, cool porches, appealing little gardens and a number of restaurants and coffee shops.

Gorge Gliding and Abseiling in Cullinan
Take the leap across Muningi Gorge in Cullinan with 3 zip lines between 200 and 550 meters, 50 meters high, and speed up to 100 km per hour or enjoy the exhilaration of abseiling down sheer cliffs up to 60 meters high. Just 30 minutes from Pretoria, Cullinan Adventure Zone is home to some of the best adrenaline pumping activities in Gauteng.

Cnr Main (R513) and Olienhout Street, Cullinan

  • As Greek as it gets, Basic Greek food – 86 Oak Avenue – contact no 083 6325364
  • Harry’s pancakes – 112 Oak Avenue - Tel no 012 734 1054
  • The cockpit brew house, handcrafted beer – 80 Oak Ave - Tel No 012 734 0656

Wagendrift trading store
Approximately 1kms north on the Moloto Rd from the turn off into Leeukloof Valley is the Wagendrift trading store owned by the infamous Louis . It is one of the last of its kind in that it sells everything from building supplies to band aids. It is worth visiting just to experience and it also sells petrol, however, please be warned that it is reminiscent of stepping into the past and experiencing what Crooks Corner in the Kruger may have felt like a century ago!

Closest Supermarket –OK Foods
Approximately 1 km north on the Moloto road (Left turn as you come out of the reserve on the main road) The OK Food store is on your left you will see it is clearly marked. You can get most basic groceries from this store.
