We’ve already had inquiries for hideaways in Franschhoek for Bastille Day and it’s got us wanting all things French, from macarons and croissants to baguettes and camembert and, of course, champagne!

It’s the week after Valentine’s and, while things may be a little tight in the purse/wallet/pocket, there is always something happening in Cape Town and surrounds -For the wine lovers: Grande Provence Harvest Festival Saturday 23 February 2013: The staff at Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate have produced an exciting itinerary for ticket holders which includes coffee and fresh muffins to start and a tractor ride to the estate for grape picking. This will be followed by a tour of the cellar and wine tasting. All of this sounds great already but attendees will also get their feet dirty stomping grapes (though the organizers have promised a hose-off afterwards!)
