Handpicked for you...

Just when you think you can’t get any higher up Hout Bay’s forested slopes and tucked-away lanes, Samadhi House comes into view. The perfect place to lay your hat when visiting Cape Town, this seven-bedroomed hideaway is located in a private pocket of the suburb backed by peaceful pine forests. The air is salty fresh and as dusk fades, wafts of warm forest earthiness embrace you as you walk out onto the pool deck. No evening is the same here, as this 180-degree vista of the valley, mountains and sea below is everchanging, come summer or winter.

Derived from the ancient Sanscrit word ‘sam’, Samadhi is said to be the perfect union of spirit with soul … a peaceful state of oneness. Indeed, anyone wanting to restore their spirit will find this family friendly hideaway a blissfully soothing escape set in an indigenous garden, but it’s an equally good choice for a yoga retreat or corporate brainstorming. Finishes are superb with tumbled travertine, oak floors, sophisticated lighting and air con making this an easy living home for all seasons.
