Boundless bush beauty
Overlooking a waterhole in the northern part of the revered Sabi Sands Nature Reserve, in the Greater Kruger Park, Simbambili Game Lodge is the perfect safari spot, to experience the magic of the South African wilderness.
Like with any family, revealing an addition to the tribe always brings about a sense of rejuvenation and excitement. As it has with the Thornybush Collection, introducing another member, Simbambili Game Lodge. Nestled within the unbridled beauty of the northern region of the Sabi Sands Nature Reserve. An earnest invitation to all safari enthusiasts, to venture into the wilderness and explore the inimitable bushveld of the Greater Kruger National Park. Catching a first glimpse at this magnificent masterpiece that the Thornybush forebearers have borne.
The lodge stretches itself across the treetops of the old Knobthorns and Jackalberries, that frame the views of the landscape. An expansive main communal area, comprising of a dining, lounging, library and entertaining area harnesses itself into the soil. Overlooking a waterhole where herds of elephant, antelope, giraffe and all of the wild passers-by love to frequent. Sauntering and sipping as they claim their habitat and perform their rituals. As shall all of the guests, during their own occupation in the wilderness.
Pivoting from the sublime luxury of one of the nine elegantly appointed suites. Each with their own private deck, plunge pool, free-standing bathtub and shaded Sala bed. The occasional spa treatment or yoga practice at the wellness centre. A laidback workout session at the gym for those that love a guilt-free week of safari indulgences. Of which there will be many! Leisurely bush breakfasts and boma barbecues. Decadent à la carte menus to choose from, homemade pizzas from the outdoor pizza oven, and lavish dinners beneath the stars. Sundowners in special spots that mark the moment with your bush besties. You’ll be on your own clocks, of course, embarking on each activity in accordance with the sun’s safari dial.
A life-changing safari experience
When it’s time to leave the chapters of your juicy novel, remove your lazy legs from the sun loungers and head out into the wilderness, the expert guides and trackers escort you down the dusty lanes of the reserve. Whether by wheel or by foot, you’ll be exposed to the breathtakingly beautiful terrain. Inhaling the scent of the South African bushveld.
Spotting the game – perhaps even your very first leopard – the prolific birdlife, and taking in the views. As avid conservationists, there’s so much to learn from the Thornybush family. Especially from its youngest enthusiast on the delicate ecosystem of the land. Your trip to Simbambili Game Lodge will be as scenically pacifying, as it will be educational and enlightening. Romantic and reflective. Like any luxury safari should be.
