Set high on top and in between the famous Redhill Mountains with 360 degree panoramic views of the Swartberg, Klipspringer is totally off the grid, sympathetically and thoughtfully built with materials from the surrounding rocks and river. The popular Groenfontein Valley and ever flowing Nels River forms the Northern boundary with Besemkop adjacent to Calitzdorp forming the Western boundary.
Watch the klipspringers from the many decks, go hiking to absorb the magnificent views, or for a cooler option explore the surrounding caves. Take a game drive to see klipspringers, duiker, steenbok, zebra, gemsbok, kudu, eland, swart wildebeest and giraffe. The Cape Epic route ran through the reserve a couple of years back and with over 100km of gravel road within the reserve it is, well, epic for mountain biking adventures. Then return to the welcome shade of this comfortable and beautifully styled home to take it easy. Cool off in the pool, sink into one of the thick padded sun-loungers with a great novel, prepare a feast in the well equipped kitchen to be enjoyed as night falls under a gloriously star-filled sky.
If you can bear to leave the comfort of this stunningly situated home then Calitzdorp is a mere 20kms away with opportunity aplenty for wine and port tasting. Take a drive through the popular Groenfontein Valley with its many art galleries. The Swartberg pass to Prince Albert, Gamkaskloof, Cango Caves, Meiringspoort, De Rust and Seweweekspoort are all beautiful and easy day outings. If you haven't yet had your fill of game viewing take a drive through Gamka Nature Reserve to the South and if your group has kids a visit to the ostrich farm is a must.
