It is only when you turn and, with your back to the mountain, take in one of the most glorious and powerful views of Cape Town, that you fully appreciate the impact of Seascape high on the slopes of Table Mountain National Park. Framed by the green belt, the Cape Town stadium is a giant ‘art piece’ in the distance. Beyond is the Atlantic Ocean and Robben Island so critical in shaping the country’s recent history. In the near distance, the rooftops of houses and apartments create a mosaic of grey and terracotta, which by nightfall become an urban galaxy of lights. You are perfectly placed to explore and enjoy one of the world’s iconic cities.
From the decks, plan your city exploration; to the South West a drive to Clifton beaches and the ribboning ocean road to Llandudno and beyond; to the North West the city centre and the V&A Waterfront – shops, water sports, restaurants and nightlife. Here at Seascape you are resident in a contemporary styled home complete with unobtrusive housekeeper to ensure every moment of your stay is quietly and efficiently designed around your chosen experience: eat a light breakfast at the poolside, plan dinner at one of the city’s top restaurants – or book your own private chef and dine in.
Eleven years ago, the owners had fallen in love with Cape Town and bought a property with great potential. Three years ago, using the super talented John Jacob, a major renovation transformed the property into a contemporary launch pad into the city. The home offers cool, neutral luxury in tones of gunmetal grey, pewter and charcoal, offset by striking graphics, photography and original artworks. The colours are restful on the eye and allow the spectacular views to be the heroes of your stay.
What we love!
Seascape is perfectly situated near the heart of the city and some of the best beaches in the country.
There is secure garage parking for four cars.
A charming back patio has a gem of a heated plunge pool and entertainment area with a gas braai should wind make the sea-facing deck challenging!
There’s a fabulous wine cellar with one entire wall of wine stocked especially for guests so that each day three bottles can be chosen to pair with your lunch or dinner menu.
There are great local chefs one can arrange to cook for you should you choose to dine in.
What you need to know…
There are stairs to climb to access the reception areas of Seascape.
Families with young children are welcome but will need supervision as pool areas and stair wells are open.
