What used to be the old barn and stable of the farm neighbouring the award-winning Riebeek Valley Wine Co. has recently undergone a complete redesign under the close direction of architect Bertie Schreuder and with input from garden designer Henk Scholtz. We’ve changed the shape of things while honouring their heritage.  You’re now invited to enjoy this charming  fully-equipped hideaway that has been crafted with fine attention to detail.

The interior is a fabulous surprise. A playful and sophisticated mix of local and international, vintage and contemporary art, cushions, furniture, lighting and throws. So, you can look forward to inherited and high-street pieces placed alongside Laguiole cutlery, Wonki Ware crockery, textiles from Barrydale Handweavers and rugs and soft furnishings from the Verandah Collection by Fibre Designs. 

To cool off in the hot summer days you have your own inviting plunge pool and umbrella outside, while there are fans and air-conditioning inside. And for those chilly winter evenings there’s the snug open hearth in the living room and oil heating throughout. 

The cottage in the valley is, in truth, a real delightful escape to the farmlands.
