Cushioned into the cliffs of Camps Bay, overlooking the tranquil rock pools of Bali Bay, just a pebble’s throw away from Bakoven beach, Ebb Tide lends itself as that sublime spot beside the sea, to settle for days or weeks on end. As you tap into the magic of the Mother City, pivoting from your own small pocket of paradise that’s been built with purpose; a pure intent of savouring la dolce vita on African soil. Whatever the season, whatever your motive for travel, this minimalistic, mid-century-inspired apartment – designed by Bryce Henderson of Studio BHD – beckons you in to its refined spaces that tickle every facet of your beach holiday imagination
Conveniently cocooned from the gusts of the notorious southeasterly Atlantic winds, allowing for endless views of the body of blue in front, and little lookouts of the Twelve Apostles and Lion’s Head framing the landscape with a verdant vision of Cape Town’s urban wilderness, this hideaway says ‘yes to the address’, emphatically. Its quick access over the Nek into the city centre. Its sensationally scenic routes around the coast to the other neighbouring seaside hamlets, the Constantia winelands and the esteemed restaurants that accompany their estates, all make Ebb Tide a wonderful base to position yourselves at, revelling in the elegance of its environment. Accommodating as many as four – with a beautiful ensuite and cleverly appointed ‘Murphy bed’ with a separate shower and loo – there’s ample room to choose this hideaway as a getaway for two, a work-remotely venture for a month or two, or a tranquil space to escape to for a weekend in the city. The living spaces are open-plan, a fully-equipped kitchen to the side with a lovely dining space, sliding doors that open out onto terraces and a stunning outdoor seating area beside the swimming pool that meets your vision of the ocean. It’s quite simply all about the views, the natural light and the gentle ocean breeze, all day long.
