Handpicked for you...

If you like a little style mixed in with your sea and sand on a beach holiday, Zinkwazi Laguna is for you. Perched on the edge of Zinkwazi’s idyllic lagoon, this contemporary beach house is laidback luxe at its best. A combination of natural textures, white, blue and green in the décor emphasises the gorgeous view the minute you walk through the front door which opens on to the spacious living area.  This is a home designed for families and friends who love to holiday together in style and comfort with plenty of space for everyone.  Bar stools at the kitchen counter allows company for the cook, a ten-seater dining room table makes for festive meals and several comfortable sitting areas invite long, meandering chats about life, the universe and everything. Wake up to the ocean views from the four upstairs bedrooms each of which opens on to a balcony. For kids, hanging out together is the best part of a holiday and a bunk room that sleeps eight was paradise for our crew and it’s debatable whether kids or parents had more fun playing pool!

It’s the outdoor living that really makes this home special, though – we spent hours on the spacious deck relaxing on loungers with our novels or chatting round the fire pit at night gorging on toasted marshmallows. The kids gave us peace as they splashed about in the pool or went supping on the lagoon. The whole group were up early for morning kayaking and beach swims in the Indian Ocean. It’s all about days wearing sarongs and board shorts, flip flops and sandy feet. Piles of good books and board games. Turn off the mobile phone, ignore the laptop and relax. This is a home for reconnecting with each other and creating fabulous holiday memories.

What we love!

  • There is something for everyone: a great kitchen for the master chefs, a bar for the cocktail aficionados, plenty of comfortable spots to relax with a book and lots of activities for the more adventurous
  • Lagoon and beach are both easily accessible and offer different experiences
  • The sunken boma with a firepit is the perfect spot for sundowners and special times spent chatting
  • Paddle boards and canoes are available for guests’ use and provide hours of fun. If you have a boat bring it!  There is a boat ramp leading from the garden.

Need to know…

  • The house is only 40 minutes’ drive from King Shaka International Airport but feels worlds away from the hustle and bustle
  • Zinkwazi is still a charming small coastal town though you may need to stop in Ballito to do a good supply shop before you head up the coast
  • The driveway is very steep
  • The bunk room is separate from the main house so perfect for older kids or small kids who have older siblings to keep an eye on them.
