Conveniently located just over an hour from Cape Town, Eikehof Farm is the ideal peaceful getaway from city life. After the craziness of the year that was, a little dose of peace was exactly what the doctor ordered! A few kilometers from Worcester, you’ll find Eikehof, set on acres and acres of lush farm land. The working farm is yours to explore and straddles the foothills of the majestic Olifantsberg with its oak, olive and citrus trees. We were greeted with friendly smiling faces as Ismael the gardener and Walda the housekeeper welcomed us into the haven that they so lovingly maintain. Through the large white pillars and stone wall, awaited a Jamie Oliver style rustic harvest board, with an array of fresh farm produce ready to be enjoyed. This aptly set the tone for a nourishing weekend ahead! The farm house itself is quite majestic! Think luxe farm-style living with high ceilings, big fireplaces, and original yellowwood floors. With three bedrooms in the main house, and an additional three bedrooms spread across two cottages alongside the house, there is more than enough space for your family or friends to comfortably enjoy their stay. Magnificent antique furnishings add charm and character to the house, and the beautifully appointed bathrooms are truly something to behold! The kitchen is quaint, but there is ample space for meals to be enjoyed around a big family-sized dining table. Our days were spent with gentle walks in nature exploring the beautiful surroundings, relaxing around the crystal clear round pool, snacking on the abundant local delights, reading on the shaded porch while enjoying the mountain views, and ending the day with board games beside the crackling fireplace. I must also mention the two very adorable miniature goats who live on the property, one of whom popped by to visit us during dinner – a welcomed guest! Eikehof Farm perfectly embodies what it means to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, allowing you to truly unwind as you ease into your stay.
