A timeless farmhouse retreat
Settled in Salento, outside of Carovigno in the serene countryside of Puglia, Italy, Casa Carbina retains its historical farmhouse feel, with a necessary nod to luxury, as you explore the region.
There’s something delightfully enchanting about the diverse landscapes of the Salento region of Italy. The cultural, historical and scenically mesmerising attributes of Puglia, all embodied into one area of the south, ensure the whole clan has something to explore. The distinguished farmhouse retreat of Casa Carbina, just outside the town of Carovigno, is the perfect place to gather as a family. A lovely sanctuary of seclusion and refinement. With all of its Masseria characteristics beautifully intact.Â
With a deep reverence for the region’s heritage, and long-standing traditions, every element of the farmhouse has been thoughtfully conceived. Safeguarding the authentic soul and original charm of the estate. The conscious use of natural materials, coupled with a refined, detailed aesthetic, elevates the property’s personality with vigour. Romantic echoes of the past, blend seamlessly with the present. Where tranquillity, privacy, and understated luxury converge, to create a harmonious setting for your Italian getaway.
Comprising of six bedrooms, all elegantly stitched together with an equal number of stylishly-designed bathrooms – as well as enough outdoor showers – the farmhouse generously accommodates as many as fifteen of your favourite people. It’s ideal for multigenerational families, who want their own space to settle in the Italian countryside. Exploring all of the wonderful sights nearby, on your own clocks, at your leisure. There’s plenty of space to wander around the grounds of the Casa, relaxing beside the pool, with wafts of citrus spilling from the orchard. The occasional dip into the Agape hot tub, pizzas on the go, barbecues and vibrant spreads of the cuisine’s finest across the tables. When in Italy, we do what we do best!
Savouring the luxury of slow living
When it’s time to venture out as a team, it’ll be easy to navigate your way to the next attractions. The positioning of the property makes it perfect for exploring the southern coastline. Head to Grottaglie for some insight into the traditions of centuries-old ceramics. The creatives of the clan can get their hands busy with clay for the day. Of course there will be a visit to the white city of Ostuni – a brief drive away from the property – and the Castello Dentice di Frasso. As well as all of the magnificent cultural must-sees in Carovigno. Beach days will be high up on the agenda. The property manager will furnish you with their tips on all of the best spots to dip into the warm waters.Â
As well as all of the wonderful treats that welcome you to Casa Carbina, additional servings of sublime comfort can be included in your stay, should you wish to go the extra mile. A comprehensive grocery list tended to, stocking the shelves, the fridges and the tables with all of the essentials, prior to your arrival. Breakfast baskets, filled to the brim with hot bakes and fresh fruit delivered to your desired spot in the gardens. You can get stuck into some authentic Apulian cooking classes, chaperoned by a private chef, should you want to discover the secrets of traditional recipes. Gourmet homemade pizzas flung out of the oven and topped with the finest local ingredients. Fancy some holiday fitness? Bring in the personal trainer for a couple of sessions on the roof terrace. There are so many little things that make this place extra special, extra indulgent, and entirely Italian. It’s up to you and your travelling team to pick and choose how you wish to experience this magnetic pocket of paradise in Puglia.
What we love!
- Enjoying the morning sun, that’s dappled beneath the pergola resting adjacent the kitchen. A wonderful spot to sit and enjoy your first brew of the day.
- Reclining beside the swimming pool, on the built-in sun beds where you can worship the rays for hours, perfecting the European tan. Or taking shade on the outdoor patio that’s covered, resting on the comfy sofas. It’s also a lovely place to settle in the evenings.
- Grabbing one of the yoga mats that are provided, heading up to the roof terrace in the early morning or evening for a few sun salutations. You could also have a massage organised – upon request – if the weather’s gentle and inviting. It’s perfectly private to enjoy some meditative moments, in between all of the adventuring.
- The location is great! A hop, skip and a jump from Carovigno, yet immersed in the Italian countryside – in the middle of nowhere. No matter what’s on the itinerary for the day, there are so many wonderful routes to take and sightseeing to enjoy, that are only a brief drive away from the property.
