Inspired by the legendary 70’s surfer Gerry Lopez, Soul Arch escorts you on a riveting adventure from every pillar, to every post of the beach house. Its cubic-like structure, bound together by timber, stone and steal, cleverly carves itself out of the Plettenberg Bay landscape, as if it has been deposited there by nature.
One of those driftwood treasures that we discover upon the shoreline, shaped and blemished by the ocean. When constructing this haven of a Garden Route hideaway, overlooking the neighbouring vlei, the owners drew their inspiration from an Australian wooden beach house. Blending lightweight wood and stone gabions with recycled timber, reclaimed doors and windows.
Resting within a burgeoning indigenous garden that retains the earthy, sustainable sentiment that’s being conveyed throughout the property. Evident in the balau decking, the vibrant Madagascan prints, and large moon-shaped lights. The pops of colour, layers of texture and effortless application of fine taste.
Soul Arch is just a short walk from the beaches – short enough to carry both surf and boogie boards at once. Whatever floats your boat. It’s delightfully open and airy, with plenty of little nooks to retreat to and cocoon yourself in its Scandinavian cabin-like pockets. Oh to spend more time in that library!
Lovely living, cooking and dining areas that merge with one another, allowing the laidback, beachy ambience of the home to engulf all of the spaces of the three-bedroomed bungalow. One being a fun bunk room for the kids. Accommodating as many as six of your getaway clan. The central courtyard with its soft green lawn flanking the swimming pool. A climbing wall for extra entertainment. The rest is up to you and your conversations with that beautiful landscape.
Sun, surf and style
There’s something undeniably special about Soul Arch. It’s aligned with the rhythm of Plett’s revered attributes, but equally removed from the seasonal commotion of the main drag. It’s a home where you and your favourite six can create those sublime seaside memories, immersed in nature.
Doing what you all do best, around the tables, beside the pool, out on the nature trails and especially in and out of the surf! When you wish to, the centre of Plett is a swift drive away. Plenty of visits to the local eateries, cafés and convenience stores. Returning home to the blissful landscape and that lovely state of wanderlust. Exactly as the style of the home intends on inducing.
