An extraordinary Berlin abode
The Artists Nest encapsulates the essence of design, inspiration and distinction in its luxury apartment spaces, declaring Berlin as a desirable European city, where many cultures collide.
The Artist’s Nest lures you away from the urban antics of Berlin, and cradles you in its affectionate embrace. Allowing the pulse of the city to reverberate beyond its walls, awaiting your exploration when you’re ready. For every other moment of your European escapade, you’ll be residing amidst a boundless cornucopia of inspiration. Bathed in natural light and cocooned in silence, its spaces have been ardently stitched together by the owners’ inimitable design and wisdom. Writers, artists and revered connoisseurs in their own right have lived in, and still occupy this home, letting their influence permeate the walls.
This first-floor Altbau apartment, settled on a quiet, tree-lined street in the heart of Prenzlauer Berg, seamlessly blends a considered approach to design, with a lived-in, creative soul. Two spacious bedrooms – one being a nursery with a beautiful crib, and a large master suite – as well as a small study-come-library with an additional bed, make it ideal for small families. The kitchen is generous and fully equipped, designed for slow mornings around the island, and long evenings of conversation and music. Bonding over the day’s discoveries as the vinyl records shuffle away. An easy flow of living, dining and reclining areas merge with one another. Every detail, from the furniture to the artwork, the literature, and the lighting has been consciously selected and placed with intent.
Described by some as a softer extension of Berlin’s cultural core, the home has been featured in Architectural Digest for its international sensibility and personal depth. A tangible collection of textiles and tiles, bespoke handmade cabinetry and furnishings, Moroccan, Canadian, Peruvian, British and of course German signature works adorn the home. Each piece telling a story. From heirlooms sourced in Latin America, and vintage Spanish markets, to photographic souvenirs collected from the owner’s journalism career. One cherished piece in particular, created for the family during the height of the pandemic, by David AIU Servan-Schreiber, their own title, “The Moon Over the Kiez” – with a sentiment that everything will be just fine. The romance of this beautiful Berlin home comes from their treasured collectables that share their tales of travel, evoking a sense of belonging in a new and enchanting city.

What we love!
- The home’s location is a traveller’s haven. The wide, tree-lined streets invite you to sit for hours outside the sun-drenched cafés. So many stores to explore. Galleries to visit. People, activity and energy bouncing around the old lanes. Yoga and Pilates studios are just steps away…there’s a wonderful balance of movement, stillness, and inspiration all around.
- Spending time in the kitchen and family room. Feasting, chatting, movie-watching or lounging about with books, investing in a couple of hours of holiday reading.
- Sitting on the wooden floor in the children’s room, admiring how beautifully it’s been created. Reading books and playing games whilst the sun streams through the tall windows.
- The home is great for entertaining. You can order paella from the restaurant below, have it delivered for dinner. Cocktails created by the barmen and served to you and your guests. A real Berlin experience in the nest!
- Taking a shower and listening to the track that you love to sing along to. Yes, there’s even music in the bathroom!
