This gorgeous home is a real escape to nature. I personally love this style of house with its packed slate walls, big wrap around decks, latte overhangs providing plenty of shade.
While away the hottest karoo afternoons in your favourite spot. The interior of the cottage is a delightful surprise with big comfy couches, beautiful decoration, rugs, throws, comfy cushions reflecting the great style of the owners. My biggest thrill is that this house is 100% off the grid, solar power provides all the electricity and gas heats the geysers and stove for cooking. But don’t let this stop you lighting all the candles and lanterns to enjoy the huge star filled karoo sky – take a bath outside! Heaven!!
The cottage is nestled deep into a private nature reserve off the famous R62. Expect to see buck, zebra and wildlife whilst walking or hiking round the reserve. To cool off there is a small rock pool plus river running next to the house or take a five minute drive to the lake in the heat of the summer. Take your binoculars, walking shoes, good food, wine, company and get away from the city in this perfect bush hideaway!
5 min drive to the lake for swimming, canoeing, fishing and boating – if you bring your own boat (no motor boats allowed).
