Characterful seaside serenity
Nestled on Glen Beach, with Camps Bay’s coastal greenery and the magic of the Atlantic Seaboard within reach, Dolphin Cottage is a charming family bungalow for seaside holidays in Cape Town.
Where the charm and nostalgia of the old world meets the essentials of the new, Dolphin Cottage gives you those warm fuzzy feelings when you enter this beautiful beach bungalow on the shores of Glen Beach. Paying homage to the historical essence of Camps Bay. Before all of the monolithic mansions were built. This seaside hideaway gives us all of the family holiday feels, with sincerity.
Dolphin Cottage is a captivating beachside retreat with its opulent interiors. Blending a safari-inspired style with Afro-chic, the cottage is tastefully decorated with a mix of intriguing furnishings, natural fabrics, and quirky touches. There’s a seamless flow between the indoor and outdoor spaces, courtesy of the wide patio doors that open out onto the decks, and into the garden.
With its six large bedrooms, accommodating as many as ten of you, there’s ample space to all congregate together, or find a lovely secluded spot to relax in the glorious African sunshine. The tree house, grotto pool, and dedicated barbecue area, multiple lounging areas – including a shaded outdoor ‘shipwreck’ seating area – and a sauna, add to the magic of this hideaway. There’s even a cascading stream that brings in an extra dose of tranquility to the holiday scene.
Slow, sunny days
Being a hop, skip or a swim away from the main strip of Camps Bay, where all of the local eateries, boutiques, bars, and convenience stores are, you’ll be able to sway to and fro. Sauntering along the shoreline as you so wish. Following an early morning coffee on the expansive decks, surrounded by the lush gardens and the ocean’s mist, you might head out on to the nearby nature trails. Or of course down to the beach for a cold dip.
Plenty of hours spent savouring the magnificent views that engulf every space. Each with their own unique vantage points. Table Mountain and the Twelve Apostles from the shaded deck. Soaking up the sun on the verandah that looks up towards Lion’s Head. The side deck that offers views of the tropical garden, while the front deck frames the pristine coastline through swaying palms. Dolphin Cottage is one of those delightfully picturesque seaside homes. That’s perfectly located in one of Cape Town’s most desirable destinations.
