Ayodele – I love living in Cape Town, it’s the place to be in South Africa. Constantia is a rather gracious area half way between the west and east coast beaches of the Peninsula, peaceful and stylish, brimming with wine farms, top restaurants and designer shops. It is where gin and tonics are served on the veranda at the end of the day and Labradors grace lush rolling lawns.
It is here, set in a truly magnificent garden amongst exotic palm trees, frangipani, agapanthus, strelitzia, lemon trees and herb gardens that the rather grand Ayodele lies.
This is a modern home of large proportions. With space and views being the requirement, it feels like being on your own private island. It is a home where entertaining is made easy – walk out into the landscaped garden, take a leisurely swim in the large rim-flow pool or team up for some multi-generational tennis. Spend time idly lazing under an umbrella or the shade of a tree, lost deep in a great novel.
It has big beautiful spaces. One can curl up in one of the smaller lounges or spread out in the cinema room with the doors wide open, letting the cool summer breeze in. Whichever you choose, you will always have that view.
The house, including the cinema room, boasts the latest in surround-sound technology. Ideal for movie nights or, since it is open-plan to the bar (with pool table) and leads onto the pool area is also perfect for a party. The cosy television room boasts similar sound precision.
Ayodele, meaning ‘joy has come home’ is a home for friends and family to both gather and be together but also has numerous smaller spaces both within the house and the extensive gardens to escape each other when needed. The light is extraordinary with double volume windows taking in the incredible, up-close mountain and sky views. It truly feels like you are in your own oasis even though you are close to all the hotspots and beaches.
It is a home to celebrate and dress up in gorgeous kaftans. Lounge by the pool, enjoy long iced summer drinks, eat fabulous food and dance the night away under the stars. Ayodele … highly recommended by us!
